We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the fourth Edition of Open Start Up Tunisia (OST) in partnership with the ministry of Higher education and scientific research, Columbia Business and Engineering schools, American Embassy, Fondation Biat, Africinvest and GoMyCode. OST is a national entrepreneurial competition whose objective is to develop ideas for innovative start-ups. This competition brings together teams from different university institutions, backgrounds and regions.
Students selected in the program work in teams to develop a project based on technology to solve a global problem. In a first round, six teams will be selected. These teams will be coached by professional trainers, experienced professors, entrepreneurs as well as MBA students from Columbia University. In a second round, a renowned jury of professionals, Columbia Professors and entrepreneurs will select the winning team. The latter will have a chance to participate in the Columbia entrepreneurship festival in New York City.
During the last edition in 2019, Felfel team won the competition and will represent Tunisia in the Columbia Venture Competition. Generally, only Columbia university students can participate in this competition but they opened their doors to Tunisia and specifically to OST to be part of it.

Students from all Tunisian universities are eligible to apply. Travel costs, accommodation, meals, and tuition will be covered by grant funds sponsored by The U.S. Department of State.
Who is Eligible?

You are currently a student with a valid registration certificate
Two applications are possible:
Either you apply individually:

You have great entrepreneurial skills and you think you can bring your added value to someone who has an idea, OR
-
You already have an idea that you want to develop
Or you apply as a team: You are a multidisciplinary team (3 students minimum) with a business idea

You are willing to live a unique experience with students from other universities and with different expertise

You are ready to work hard and under pressure

You are fluent in English

You are willing to challenge yourself and to be challenged

And, you can align to the project deadlines (see below)
